What Tree-Free Actually Means
Our products are made from three rapidly renewable plant fibers that grow back in months, not decades:
Bagasse is the fibrous material left after sugarcane is processed for sugar and juice. It is an agricultural byproduct that would otherwise be burned or landfilled. We turn it into plates, bowls, containers, and packaging board.
Bamboo is one of the fastest-growing plants on earth — some species grow up to three feet per day. It reaches harvest maturity in three to five years compared to 20 to 80 years for commercial timber. We use it for cutlery, cups, and fiber blends.
Miscanthus is a perennial grass that grows over 10 feet tall annually without irrigation, pesticides, or replanting. Once established, a miscanthus crop produces harvestable fiber for 15 to 20 years from the same root system. We process miscanthus at our facility in Corning, Arkansas.
None of these materials require deforestation. None require decades of regrowth. All of them are compostable at end of life.
